Beekeeping and Nectartrin Honey

Healthy hives on Rwanda’s hills, harvested with care.

A central pillar of our growth

Beekeeping is becoming a central pillar of CYNTHIATRIN’s long-term growth strategy. Our beekeeping activities contribute to honey production, pollination, biodiversity, income generation, and the development of sustainable agricultural ecosystems.

CYNTHIATRIN currently manages 180 beehives, including 100 hives at the harvesting stage and 80 additional hives being developed toward production.

Our long-term ambition is to develop a strong beekeeping enterprise that connects commercial honey production, farmer education, environmental conservation, and eventually beekeeping-related tourism.

In the apiary

Our beekeepers work in full protective suits, checking each hive and keeping the colonies strong.

Harvesting the honey

When the frames are full, we bring them in and spin out the honey in an extractor.

Then it goes straight into jars. Nothing is added.

International beekeeping training

In September 2026, our founder took part in a three-week beekeeping industry development programme in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. We are adapting what she learned to our apiaries, our trainees and local realities in Rwanda.
